Construction is progressing well on site at FM2, Ferrybridge, Knottingley where Hitachi Zosen Inova are constructing a second Energy from Waste Facility to compliment the recently constructed FM1.
‘The complete plant, consisting of a total of four lines, ranks among Europe’s largest and most efficient EfW plants. FM2 will annually handle around 570,000 tonnes of waste-derived fuel from various sources such as municipal solid waste, commercial and industrial waste and waste wood. The plant will be producing enough energy to power around 170,000 homes’ (HZI website).
Weedon Architects have been appointed directly by HZI to deliver this our fourth EfW since 2011.
